Synthesis of Hydrazone Derivatives of Coumarin and Their Microbial Activities

The hydrazone derivatives have been synthesized from available precursorslike 2,4-dinitrophenyl hydrazine, and thiosemicarbazide in excellent yields in ethanol as a solvent without any catalyst. Formylderivativesof coumarinhave been synthesizedby using HMTA.All these compounds have been screened for their preliminary potent microbial activities against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.
